Jacked Anchor

SGE's involvement in CONVENTIONAL ground anchoring works has been taken a revolutionary turn during the recent years.


Having appreciated all the possible problems associated with conventional ground anchors, SGE has researched, experimented and come out with a new system of installing ground anchors 

- SGE Jacked Anchors


Jacked Anchors are installed by hydraulic jacking means in which the capacities of the anchors are immediately known at the time of installation.

Advantages

The many advantages Jacked Anchors have over conventional ground anchors are : 


  • Improvement to soil properties  - The soil is densified around the jacked anchor thereby increasing the frictional grip.


  • No problem with collapsible soil especially with sandy and high water table conditions.


  • Assured capacities - All jacked anchors are installed to sufficient capacities at the time of installation. No waiting time needed for curing and hardening of cement grout.


  • Cheaper cost of construction - Failed anchors need to be abandoned or replaced. Cost of conventional ground anchors therefore have to take into consideration risk-related costs.


  • Much faster speed of construction


  • Much cleaner and tidier working conditions.

Track Record

Since its introduction into the market in 1994, SGE has successfully and speedily constructed more than 5,000 numbers of jacked anchors to sheet pile retaining walls with excavation as deep as 11m, most of them being constructed right in the center of Kuala Lumpur City!


  • Jalan Gombak and Jalan Pahang.
  • Jalan Sultan Ismail (SGE Jacked Anchor replaced Conventional Anchors when the latter caused repeated settlement).
  • Kuala Lumpur - Seremban Highway.
  • Jalan Imbi.
  • Old Klang Road (Near Bandar Sunway) - (Conventional ground anchors caused many sinkholes).
  • Existing Rawang - Ipoh Railway Track (70 - 80 locations).
  • LDP near Kelana Jaya.
  • K.L - Seremban Highway and Sg Besi Road (SMART).
  • Jalan Tun Razak (SMART) - (Conventional anchors replaced by SGE Jacked Anchors).
